Just One Minute a Day Can Change Your Life

Taking one minute out of each day for yourself can make a big difference in your life

Just by using one of the 1,440 minutes in a day, you can change your entire outlook, become more relaxed, more cheerful and more in control of the situations you face.

- You can take one minute for yourself anyplace, anytime, either whenever you think of it or at a specific time each day. and if you're under stress, you can take a minute more than once a day when problems arise. There are several ways you can use your minute.

- One woman with three young children found that she was becoming a frazzled nervous wreck as the day wore on. So once every day, she would take a minute to think just about
herself what she'd wear for an up coming party, for instance and not all about the children. At the end of the minute she felt refreshed

If you're becoming frustrated as you try to balance you budget, for instance, take a minute to remember how lucky you are. You have a roof over your head. You've got enough to eat.

You'll return to your budget filled with thoughts of gratitude for what you have, rather than frustration and bitterness over what you can't afford.

You can also use the minute to think of a constructive way to deal with a situation instead of simply brooding over it or becoming stressed.

For example, a man who missed an airplane flight to an important business meeting might worry that it could jeopardize his job. But he's better off taking a minute to figure out how to get to the meeting as soon as possible... Taking a break from the pressures of the day can work wonders.
